FAQ's (Frequently Asked Questions)

What different services do you offer?
LIFESTYLE Home Care offers a full range of non-medical home care services, including companion care, personal care, hourly, live-in and more. Our team can help you select the specific services right for your situation. We offer the latest in technology that allows all of our clients to check-in on your loved one, anytime, anywhere, 24/7 with a smartphone or compatible device. All this is backed by our satisfaction guarantee – we work hard to ensure that you are 100% satisfied with our services.

Can you do short term in-home care?
Yes. Our care is always determined by what you need and what you want. It’s home care the way you want! We will work with you to design a customized care plan, just the way you want. There are no contracts and you are billed for the services used. You can cancel at anytime. We guarantee your satisfaction.

Do you accept Medicare or Medicaid for these services?
No. Currently Medicare does not cover non-medical home care services provided by a non-medical home care company. (If a patient is eligible for Home Health Care (skilled nursing) and continues to meet those criteria, then the home care services provided by the Medicare certified Home Health Agency are covered up to a certain limit). Medicaid offers some coverage to eligible Medicaid recipients. In this case the agency used must be a certified Medicaid provider. For more information, visit: http://www.cms.hhs.gov/

I have insurance but I'm not sure if it covers non-medical home care. Can you help?
Yes. With your consent, LIFESTYLE Home Care will verify your insurance coverage and note the specifics of that coverage including the plan benefits. If you are a veteran, you may have veteran benefits under home care that can be used for payment as well.

Do you provide care for someone in a hospital, nursing home, or assisted living facility?
Yes. We can provide services to you wherever you call home. If a family member transitions to a care facility then we will transition with you and work to continue providing the services you request.

What additional costs will I pay?
None. There are no additional costs with one exception.  You may incur mileage fees when you ask your caregiver to run errands in their personal vehicle.

Do you accept credit card payments?
Yes. LIFESTYLE Home Care accepts Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover. We also accept personal checks.

How often do I get billed for services?
Billing is done on a weekly basis.

What if I need to speak to someone in the office after business hours?
LIFESTYLE Home Care's office staff is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Your concern will be answered whether it occurs during normal business hours or after normal business hours.

Why would I hire a LIFESTYLE Home Care caregiver versus a private caregiver for my family? In short, we provide Peace of Mind. If you hire your own caregiver, Federal law states that you now become the employer of the caregiver. As an employer you are responsible for the following:
- All state and federal payroll taxes. (This means filing taxes as an employer quarterly)
- Obtaining Workers Compensation Insurance or ensuring your private caregiver comes with insurance. This is mandatory in Arizona. (If not, you could be responsible for any injuries claimed to have happened while working at your home).
- Obtaining ‘bond’ insurance against theft.
- ‘No Show’ – if the person doesn’t show up for work are you willing to find someone else or be left alone?
- Running a thorough background check?
- Verifying driving record, motor vehicle insurance, and more!
These are only some of the challenges to hiring a private caregiver. With Lifestyle Home Care, you do not have to worry about any of these issues.

What should I be looking for in a non-medical home care agency?
The best in-home care agencies respond immediately to your home care needs.
- They should be licensed, bonded and insured.
- Their caregivers should be carefully screened, with background checks.
- Their caregivers should be company employees.
- They should provide periodic check-ins to ensure satisfaction.
- They should have someone available to you 24/7.
- They should provide you with a copy of your care plan
- They should be flexible in meeting reasonable requests

How long will it take to get a caregiver?
Based on your needs and requests, we can provide a caregiver immediately or at your convenience.

Can I help choose the caregiver and/or meet them in advance?
Yes. If requested, LIFESTYLE Home Care will arrange a meeting with a preselected caregiver. We will do so at no charge until you are completely satisfied.

What happens if a caregiver is unable to show up?
If the caregiver is unavailable for any reason, a back-up caregiver is provided.

How do you select my caregiver?
All of our caregivers are carefully screened which includes a national criminal background check, a thorough reference check, a motor vehicle record check, and an extensive interview. All our caregivers are employees that are bonded and insured. We carefully match your specific needs to the skills and background of each caregiver to find the best fit.
